ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE?
Econfina Creek is a beautiful scenic wonder that was produced by natural cold springs thousands of years ago. There are 11 named springs and over 36 vents along the creek. This creek flows through multiple counties then to Deer Point Lake Reservoir in Bay County, Florida. This creek produces over 600 million gallons of water a day which provides fresh water for Panama City and the surrounding areas.
A portion of the Florida Scenic Trail (19 miles) runs along the creek from Scott Road at Hwy 231 down to State Hwy 20.
This creek has over 24 miles of paddling but Hurricane Michael in 2018 blocked the first 18 miles with debris. This past year Northwest Florida Water Management has cleared another 7 miles upcreek to Walsingham Bridge. They are now working to permit and clear the next 11 miles so we can enjoy all the creek has to offer!
